When Heather, Ben & kids were here in May for the CF walk, we had a small family birthday party to celebrate the upcoming June birthdays. Spencer turned 4 and Curtis turned 32. Curtis is slowly teaching Spencer to like the Chicago Cubs. Spencer says "Go Cubs Go" often. During this trip up here, Curtis also played the "Go Cubs Go" song for Spencer. He loved it! So, for our birthday celebration Heather made a "Cubs" cake in honor of her brother and her son.
For Mother's Day this year, we had Both of our Mother's and family over for dinner. It was really nice to be able to spend a few hours with my Mom and Curtis' Mom and honor them on their special day. They both do so much for us and we are VERY thankful for all the love and support that they give to us. We Love you Mom & Mom!!!
The weekend before we left on our Seattle trip, we got a wonderful surprise. Curtis' Aunt Mary Jo was in town with her husband Clay to attend her 50 yr high school reunion. Aunt Mary Jo is Chuck's only sister and she lives in Michigan. I was excited to meet her as I have never met any of Chuck's siblings since I married into the family (but I have heard a lot about them). Curtis was also excited because he had not seen Mary Jo in over 10 yrs! It was fun to talk to her and get to know her. I also enjoyed watching Chuck talk with his sister and talk about all of their memories from their younger years.
July 4th weekend we were invited to light & watch some fireworks with some friends from church. It ended up being a neighborhood party! There was lots of food, decorations, music, and fireworks. The kids started the festivities with a parade down the street showing off their Red, White & Blue. We all enjoyed the company and of course the fireworks!!!
